Grampian Growers

Grampian Growers Limited is one of the North East's leading farming co-operatives , established in 1970 by six like-minded farmers. Our collective aim was to produce and market a range of unsubsidised crops, primarily for export. We started out with CCAHC and FEOGA grants, enabling us to construct high quality production and warehousing facilities at Montrose.

The cooperative now serves 16 bulb growers and 15 potato growers. We provide a range of services: grading; cold storage; packing; marketing and transporting cut flowers, daffodil dry bulbs and seed potatoes.

Our continued success relies on the production and delivery of quality produce, the year-round utilisation of both staff and facilities and the ability to provide a first class service to both members and customers.

From September to April, we process 8-10,000 tones of potatoes for storage, grading and marketing over an eight month period. A further 6-8000 tonnes are graded on our members' farms and marketed by us. Our key markets are North Africa for seed exports, complemented by sales to both UK merchants and individual potato growers throughout the UK.

The daffodil cut flower season overlaps the potato season in March/April, with 5-7 million bunches of flowers cropped, packed and marketed primarily to mainland Europe, as well as the USA and Canada.

Finally, July to September covers the intake, packing and exporting of 5,000 tonnes of daffodil bulbs to mainland Europe, Scandinavia, USA and Canada.
